Silver Bullet Dynamic | Special III 50K Copperhead Dirty/Lo-Fi

The Silver Bullet Dynamic | Special III Copperhead 50KΩ Dirty/Lo-Fi (with volume control) provides an extremely small and compact rugged bullet mic in all back – finished with a black leather wrap and lovely dark hardwood fascia. Custom built with an ultra-light thermoset resin shell, when you hold the mic it feels small, solid, industrial and robust. Uniquely the thermoset resin shell is copper lined with an earthed external copper band for FR and EMI protection to provide a professional and fully noise-protected microphone for performance and recording. The mic rejects all unwanted Electrostatic hum, radio frequency, static and ground noise interference.

The microphone has a really “hot” signal that is packed with full harmonic content and great tone with perfect base and mid-sound without treble. The sound is warm, responds to cupping and pressure changes and breaks up nicely. The 50KΩ offers the highest sensitivity of Silver Bullet range with slightly lower headroom so if you like crunch distortion and a lovely dirty blues sound this is the microphone to chose. Apply a touch of reverb from your amp, turn up the gain to drive the mic’ and achieve various degrees of distorted, crunchy classic “blues” harmonica sound, especially when cupped. Dynamic microphones have proven reliability and are ideal for practice or gigging – blues and country harmonica performance. This mic’ needs to be matched to a high (500KΩ/0.5MΩ) impedance sockets on your amplifier.

The microphone’s size and shape provide a durable design which is smaller than a Marine Band and fits neatly in your hand. It is a perfect size for getting a good seal for amplified harmonica playing which is much easier than with a larger bullet mic. A really nice feature of this mic is the leather and rubber (top) finish which serves two purposes: firstly it means that the harmonica isn’t going slip out of your hands when they get sweaty (a real issue!); secondly it helps achieve a consistent airtight seal around the harmonica and microphone to get the biggest “tone” you possibly can. Smaller than the Special II this mic may suit a player with small hands or who prefers a very small and neat mic!

The mic’ is exceptionally light in your hand and is easy to hold with a harmonica while performing so you don’t get hand cramp after a long practice or performance. Weighing just 13% of the weight of a Green Bullet you won’t notice you are holding it! The volume knob is small and very firm which means you are not going to accidentally twist it in the middle of a particularly enthusiastic harmonica solo. The sensitive volume control provides you with excellent control to boost your output or control feedback or to increase gain for added distortion effect or control unwanted feed-back issues. The mic’ connects to a valve or solid-state amplifier with a standard 1/4″ (6.3mm) guitar jack-plug socket.

This high impedance dynamic mic’ is top-of-the range and special in terms of sound, feel and playability.
